Penny Paddle is a Corporate and Commercial lawyer with 30 years of experience. Her focus is on SMEs, entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth individuals. Throughout her career, she has led numerous multi-million-pound transactions and advised on group restructuring strategies, including share exchanges, reclassification, and the subdivision of shares, as well as providing general corporate governance advice. While based in the South West, her practice serves both national and international clients. 

Penny has an entrepreneurial background, having established her own law firm in the past and been involved in various commercial enterprises over the years. She understands the challenges faced by business owners and adopts a pragmatic, commercial approach to her practice, particularly when advising clients on cost-effective negotiating strategies. Penny is also well-versed in ESG matters, assisting clients in updating their governance documents to meet ESG responsibilities. 

She has extensive experience in the hospitality sector, advising on the sales and acquisitions of hotels, public houses, holiday parks, and caravan sites. She is also highly experienced in the retail sector, particularly in the sales and acquisitions of convenience stores. 

Penny advises on fundraising, including private equity, crowdfunding, and SEIS/EIS schemes, as well as general commercial matters such as intellectual property licensing or assignment and services agreements. 

Penny originally qualified into the Corporate team of the City of London law firm Rowe & Maw (now Mayer Brown) in 1994. She later worked in-house for one of the GE companies, heading the UK legal team for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, before returning to private practice in 2004.
