With over 15 years’ experience working in the legal sector (both pre- and post- qualification), Niall has worked for both boutique and full-service law firms and as in-house legal counsel within the financial services sector.
In private practice, Niall initially specialised in aircraft and asset finance, an area in which he practised in for nearly 10 years, and advised lenders, lessors and aircraft operators (both in the UK and internationally). He built extensive experience in the establishment of master finance facilities for multiple commercial aircraft (including those utilising export credit support or finance) and advising on tax-based and non-tax-based leasing structures.
Niall also advised domestic and international clients (including institutional and non-bank lenders, as well as borrowers) on a range of transactional banking matters including real estate finance, leveraged finance, structured finance and asset backed lending.
More recently, Niall has worked as in-house legal counsel, at a pair of specialist wealth/investment management groups. Working across multiple jurisdictions, Niall has built a wealth of experience in domestic/international funds management, financial regulation and data protection/privacy matters.
At Triple Point, he also acted as sole transactional counsel on a variety of corporate, commercial and finance matters for the group’s trading businesses/investment funds in addition to his role as a group in-house counsel.
