Justin combines a dispute resolution practice with his well established and extremely broad employment practice. His innovative approach is attractive to individuals and companies alike. His primary focus remains on all aspects of contentious employment matters, primarily for City employees.
Justin is very familiar with the instruments traded in the financial industry and the complexities of the deals done. His recent cases include whistle-blowing and discrimination claims for senior employees in major investment banks, hedge funds, multinational companies and partners in law firms. He has also acted for directors and senior management who have been removed from office.
Justin is equally comfortable litigating in the Employment Tribunal or the Courts.
He often finds himself in the High Court dealing with fast moving injunctions related to employee competition. He is increasingly involved in commercial litigation arising from disputes in ownership of confidential and proprietary information.
Justin has been involved in numerous boardroom and shareholder disputes. He also acts in disputes arising within LLPs and Partnerships. He has been instructed in claims of professional negligence and claims for breach of directors’ duties. He has recently acted for a group of employees in a liquidation scenario advancing their rights against malfeasant directors. Justin has assisted several employers with insurance recovery of losses incurred by fraudulent employees.
Justin is involved in high value claims, often settling matters at a very satisfactory level without the need for a final hearing. This is due to his forward thinking and planning in litigation as well as his skills as a negotiator, which are widely recognised and have led to significant successes in both formal and informal settings. He has a genuine interest in and desire to understand the issues in a dispute and takes a commercial and pragmatic approach to dispute resolution.
He also advises on less contentious employment and commercial matters including start-up steps, employment terms, human resources issues, restructuring, redundancies, TUPE, and remuneration including bonus/commission schemes and awards, and long term incentive plans.
