Jasdeep is an experienced solicitor, having acted for an impressive portfolio of clients in an array of complicated and high value commercial disputes and property disputes. His experience has seen him operate in the High Court and county courts.

Before joining Spencer West Jasdeep worked at a highly ranked Legal 500 firm in Cambridgeshire where he was promoted to Associate. He went on to join a tier 1 ranked Legal 500 firm with a base in central London assisting on high value disputes. He continued to develop his commercial disputes practice at the Cambridge office of a highly ranked Legal 500 top 135 UK law firm.

Jasdeep has also previously worked as an in-house lawyer for HM Land Registry which complements his property practice. His HM Land Registry experience makes him one of the few lawyers in the country working in private practice with such a background. This is advantageous to his clients embroiled in land disputes.

Examples of Jasdeep’s commercial disputes work includes:

  • Assisting in advising on the enforcement of a Dubai International Finance Centre (DIFC) Court judgment for approximately US $70 million in England, against the defendant’s assets located in England
  • Assisting in pursuing LCIA arbitration proceedings relating to an unfair prejudice petition with the value of the shares in dispute averred to be c.£60 million
  • Assisting in defending a law firm from an application for an administration order following the recalling of a c.£15 million loan made by its lender’s administrator
  • Assisting the claimant in pursuing a professional negligence claim against his direct access junior barrister and his direct access senior barrister (King’s Counsel) for the failure to competently advise in defamation proceedings in the High Court resulting in the client’s liability going from a modest c.£5,000 payment, apology and undertaking, to a staggering c.£400,000
  • Acting for a doctor in pursuing a claim for, inter alia, breach of the partnership deed following his removal from the partnership by the other partners
  • Assisting a sophisticated group of clients in appealing an Arbitrator’s Award in the High Court
  • Acting for the subsidiary company of a large group company in pursuing, inter alia, conspiracy claims against numerous individuals and companies for c.£350,000. Successfully settled
  • Pursuing a professional negligence claim on behalf of multiple claimants against a national UK law firm for failing to revoke the Deceased’s (before he died) will in order for him to die intestate, for c.£300,000. That failure resulted in the beneficiary in the last will (upon the Deceased’s death) being entitled to the entirety of the Deceased’s estate leaving the multiple intended beneficiaries with nothing. Successfully settled out of court
  • Acting for an individual in pursuing unpaid loans against the debtor and the guarantor in a family dispute. Involved complicated issues including the service of an original claim form in prison (where the prison would not permit external original documentation due to contraband policy), numerous witnesses, some undocumented loans dating back to 2006, admissibility of audio recordings etc. Matter proceeded to a successful 5-day trial with the claimant obtaining judgment for c.£200,000
  • Acting for a claimant in the enforcement of a Guarantee (subject to UK jurisdiction) against entities located in Gibraltar and Cape Verde relating to a delay in the completion of a hotel resort in Cape Verde. Value was c.£200,000
  • Acting for a well-known influencer in a defence and counterclaim against the agency the influencer had entered into a contract with. Successfully settled.

  • Acting for a landowner in successfully registering an area of unregistered land via adverse possession
  • Acting for a management company in aggressively pursuing two home owners refusing to pay service charges, having erred in their understanding of the Transfer deed. Service charges and legal fees successfully recovered
  • Acting for a landowner of commercial premises in pursuing a claim based on the position of the legal boundary with the alternative arguments being adverse possession or a prescriptive easement. Complicated matter involving the consideration of voluminous land deeds and ordnance survey plans tracing back to a common vendor
