Emma is a commercial real estate lawyer with two decades’ worth of experience in the sector.
Emma’s practice is broad, covering all core commercial real estate areas of practice, including sales and purchases, and the acquisition of land for commercial development purchases.
Throughout her career, Emma has acted for landlords and tenants across the retail, office, industrial, logistics, and performing arts sectors, and advised extensively of matters of portfolio management in respect of high-profile, high-value estates, and single assets across central London and beyond.
Emma has advised both lenders and borrowers on a range of financing transactions from new lending, to refinancing and restructuring, including for distressed debt. She spent 9 months on secondment with The Royal Bank of Scotland during the GFC.
Notably, Emma has more than 15 years’ experience of acting for data centre industry clients, advising on everything from land acquisitions for data centre development, through to advising operators and customers on data centre leasing, services, and colocation agreements. Emma has worked with clients and lawyers in the UK and in 30 plus jurisdictions around the world in this field and has excellent overseas counsel management skills.
During her career, Emma has been the real estate lead on multiple corporate transactions, advising her corporate colleagues and their clients on the real estate aspects of their corporate sales and acquisitions.
Emma’s experience is drawn from working for a number of globally recognised law firms, amongst them Mayer Brown, Eversheds, Bird & Bird and Locke Lord. She has also more recently lead the real estate practice at boutique data centre law firm, Conexus Law.
