David is a highly experienced business lawyer and specialist in franchising, with a career spanning over 40 years. As well as leading the firm’s Retail and Franchise team he serves as Head of Business Development at Spencer West and is head of Law Reach, Spencer West’s referral scheme.
David acts as Company Secretary and/or General Counsel for several companies, including Retail Trust, Platinum Wave Consultancy and Beezr Media, and has been a prominent figure in the franchising sector. He is a Qualified Franchise Professional and an affiliate member of the British Franchise Association (BFA), where he also provides legal advice to the BFA Franchise Group in Scotland. David was the first Scottish lawyer to be recognised as a Qualified Franchise Professional by the BFA.
His practice includes advising franchisors on franchise agreements, commercial contracts, and dispute resolution. Known for his broad commercial expertise, David’s clients appreciate his professional approach and his ability to offer strategic advice in business law matters.

In addition to his legal practice, David is an Ambassador to the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce and is a Director of the Glasgow International Jazz Festival. He also holds the position of Honorary Consul to Latvia in Glasgow.
