Spencer West LLP advises on BTTC merger with Cumming Group
Corporate partner Simon Wilson has advised BTTC Infrastructure Group on its significant merger with the international project management cost consultancy and global construction solutions provider, Cumming Group.
BTTC, an infrastructure consultancy specialising in the rail and energy markets, has experienced excellent growth in recent years and focuses on the delivery of complex infrastructure projects across the UK and Canada. The group has built a strong reputation providing critical program management, commercial management, and strategic advisory services for some of the industry’s largest and fastest-growing transportation agencies across the public and private sectors.
This strategic move significantly enhances Cumming Group’s capabilities and growth opportunities in the infrastructure sector internationally. The merger aligns with Cumming Group’s long-term strategy of continued diversification across the broad spectrum of the built environment while establishing Cumming Group’s first major foothold in Canada – providing the combined firm with the necessary expertise and geographic presence to continue its expansion in the North American infrastructure market.
Simon previously advised the BTTC board on their management buyout of the group in 2022 and has been working with the group since. The BTTC team were able to draw on Simon’s knowledge of their business, as well as his experience in the infrastructure, transport and energy sectors, in order to achieve a successful execution of this merger. Simon was supported on the transaction by Spencer West corporate associate, Thomas Allen.
Sam Havill, Director at BTTC, said:
“Simon and his team worked diligently to get this transaction over the line, in spite of very tight time frames. Simon is both pragmatic and responsive; and he really took the time to get to know our business well over the last 3 years. The work of Simon and his team has been invaluable in helping us achieve this significant milestone and successful merger which enables the business to further grow and benefit from Cumming Group’s global network and resources.”
