New Employment Rights Bill: Balancing Worker Protections and Business Challenges

The Employment Right Bill was first introduced in October 2024 by the new Labour Government. Hailed as “the biggest upgrade to workers rights in a generation” by Prime Minister Kier Starmer,  the updated bill bare witness to no less than 28 reforms to employment law which included more protection for workers on exploitative zero hour contracts, and outlawing controversial “fire and rehire” practices where employees resist contractual changes.
