April 2026: Inheritance Tax for Farmers

“The next generation may not be ready to take on the running of a farm” states Hudda Morgan, commenting on the recent changes to tax for farmers which the Chancellor Rachel Reeves could adopt in the next Budget.

Hudda’s comments comes after the changes proposed in the Autumn Budget mean that from April 6th, 2026, business and agricultural assets will only have a £1 million allowance of 100% relief and any excess over that 50% relief.
