Amanda Lennon writes for People Management on alcohol at work following government ‘partygate’ scandal
Following comments in Sue Gray’s report about Westminster’s culture of excessive drinking, our employment partner Amanda Lennon outlines best practice for employers in an article for People Management.
Amanda explains: “There is a fine line between socialising as part of team building and excessive alcohol which affects people’s ability to do their jobs. Your alcohol policy should be clear around what is acceptable and what isn’t.”
Amanda also highlights the important role employers can play in supporting employees: “Line managers should be given support and training and know the signs to look out for when someone may be struggling with alcohol.”
