Spencer West Expands Global Presence with New Portugal Office
International law firm Spencer West has today announced the opening of its Portugal office, further extending its global reach to 20 jurisdictions.
The new office, located in Lisbon, will be led by distinguished lawyer Sónia Alexandra Ferreira, who brings over two decades of expertise in corporate law and real estate.
This strategic expansion comes amid Spencer West’s recent office openings in New York, San Francisco, Belfast, and Leeds, and strengthens the firm’s position in a key European market that serves as a gateway to the EU, Africa, and Latin America.
Spencer West Portugal Founding Partner Sónia Ferreira said the local market was ripe for the introduction of a forward-thinking international law firm.
“This partnership represents a pivotal moment. Portugal’s legal market is at an exciting juncture, driven by the country’s growing international appeal as a destination for foreign investment, business expansion, and high-net-worth individuals,” Ms Ferreira said.
“As Spencer West Portugal, we are ideally positioned to support both local and international clients, offering not only local expertise but also a strong international platform.”
Antoine West, Managing Partner at Spencer West, said the addition of the office in Lisbon was strategically important for the firm’s future success.
“Our expansion into Portugal marks a significant milestone in our global growth strategy. Portugal’s dynamic business environment and its strategic position as a gateway to multiple markets align perfectly with our vision of becoming the most connected international fee-sharing law firm,” Mr West said.
“Sónia and her team bring exceptional expertise that will enhance our ability to serve clients across borders while maintaining the high standards of service that define Spencer West.”
Spencer West Portugal will operate from its office at Rua Castilho, 237 – 5.º Dto., offering comprehensive legal services across corporate law, real estate, and international business transactions.
The office will leverage Portugal’s emergence as a dynamic hub for technology and innovation while maintaining strong capabilities in traditional sectors.
