Spencer West Congratulates Partner Susan Paul on Her Recognition as UEL Honorary Health and Law Fellow
London – June 13, 2024 – Spencer West LLP is proud to announce that Susan Paul, our NHS, Employment & Conflict Resolution Partner, has been recognised as both an Honorary Health Fellow and an Honorary Law Fellow by the University of East London (UEL). The ceremony took place on June 12, 2024, at UEL’s Stratford Campus, with Susan receiving her certificate from the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan.
The inauguration was part of the grand opening of UEL’s new Health Campus, which aims to train future inter-professional health and social care workers and serve as a hub for groundbreaking research in community health care and preventive care. The event also celebrated the creation of the One East London Network, a collaborative effort to address health inequalities and enhance health outcomes for millions of residents in east London.
Mayor Khan, UEL Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Amanda Broderick, and the Mayor of Newham Rokhsana Fiaz OBE were among the dignitaries who attended the launch. The inauguration of the UEL Honorary Health Fellows recognised health professionals for their exceptional expertise and commitment to tackling health disparities and advancing community education.
Susan’s dedication to driving positive change and supporting the development of working environments which empower leaders to build compassionate and effective teams have made her an invaluable asset to the business, legal and health sectors. Her roles both as an Honorary Health Fellow and as an Honorary Law Fellow will involve working closely with UEL in both their Royal Docks School of Business and Law, and their new Health Campus to provide expert advice and insights to assist in the training of the next generation of healthcare professionals required for the sustainable growth and development of the NHS.
Susan said, “I am honoured to have been awarded a Joint Fellowship in Health and Law by the University of East London this week. Supporting universities and students has been a passion of mine for over a decade. Now, I am delighted to give back to East London, a vibrant area I have lived and worked in for over 35 years. The community spirit here is incredible, filled with people committed to making a difference.”
