STOP PRESS: The new Register of Overseas Entities owning UK land is live
The Register of Overseas Entities owning UK land (ROE) went live on 1 August and action is required.
Here are some key points to note. A fuller overview of the measures can be found in my April article here.

Points to note
- The measures apply to all UK land. This includes property (residential and commercial).
- Trustees of non-UK trusts that are the beneficial owners of UK land will need to supply information about the trust.
- Failure to comply with the measures is a criminal offence and will prevent sale, charging, gifting etc. the land.
- Overseas entities includes Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man entities.
