Employment partner Dr John McMullen assists Acas in its revision of its TUPE Guidance
ACAS is an independent public body that receives funding from the government and is a Crown non-departmental public body. Its purpose is to improve organisations and working life through the promotion and facilitation of strong industrial relations practice.
Although ACAS is largely funded by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, it is a non-departmental body, governed by an independent Council that is responsible for determining Acas’s strategic direction, policies and priorities, and ensuring that its statutory duties are carried out effectively. This allows ACAS to be independent, impartial and confidentiality provides free and impartial advice to employers, employees and their representatives on:
- employment rights
- best practice and policies
- resolving workplace conflict
When things go wrong, Acas help to resolve workplace disputes between employers and employees.
Essential to it service provision is the guidance to employer and employees on its website.
We are delighted to confirm that our employment partner Dr John McMullen, who is arguably the leading expert on TUPE in the UK, has been honoured to advise ACAS on its new online advice for employers.
