Flexible benefits are the way forward as economy opens up again, writes Amanda Lennon in Employee Benefits
Our Employment Law Partner Amanda Lennon has been quoted in Employee Benefits, the UK’s premier publication for professionals who specialise in benefits, pensions, reward and compensation.
The article discusses benefits approaches as the economy opens up again, looking at an increase in movement between jobs as people have taken stock during the pandemic and are looking for change. It explains that what sits under the benefits umbrella has become larger, now including flexible working, as well as giving employees a choice over the benefits they receive – ‘flexible benefits’.
Commenting on the rise of flexible benefits, Amanda says: “Lockdown has shown us that we are all individuals and what works for one person will not work for another. For some employees, the freedom and flexibility that working from home affords has been a dream, while others are craving the buzz and connection of the office. Employers can no longer afford to make sweeping decisions and assumptions about their workforce.”
