Fiona Blakey

I enjoy analysing situations and problems, getting to the heart of an issue and helping clients find and get to the right solution or outcome. This is often about exercising judgement. From my time spent in-house, I see and understand the bigger picture and when giving advice balance legal knowledge and risk with an understanding of the commercial and human impact. Clients find this extremely helpful.

Fiona is an experienced employment  lawyer with extensive expertise in advisory work in a commercial context having worked both in private practice and for a significant period of time in-house within high profile organisations.

Fiona has advised organisations and individuals for 20 years and works with clients across a range of sectors including media and entertainment, gaming, private equity, beauty, the public speaking space, aviation, PR, advertising, retail and education.

Her employment specialisms include advising on strategic HR projects, redundancy-related issues, employment contracts and handbooks, sensitive terminations, restrictive covenants, performance management, unfair dismissals, disciplinary matters and grievances, discrimination law and conducting investigations.

Over the past 9 years, Fiona has gained invaluable experience and expertise in advising in the education sector. This was obtained through her work as a school governor and latterly as co-chair of governors, together with her work advising and supporting a private nursery with its employment documentation, internal processes, and operations throughout COVID.
